West Basin Recipient of California Society of Municipal Finance Officers Innovation Award

The California Society of Municipal Finance Officers recognized West Basin with the 2017 Innovation Award for the District’s new methodology resulting in more accurate financial statements and data regarding the cost of replacing capital assets. The comprehensive process identifies and separates the individual components of water infrastructure and equipment so that it can better track the estimated useful lives and replacement cost of individual components.

The Innovation Award Program was established in 2013 to identify best practices and to encourage all local governments to consider implementing them.  West Basin was one of two recipient agencies this year.
