Water Treatment Facility Field Trips

Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility – El Segundo

This free field trip experience is available to public and private schools located in the West Basin service area. Students will virtually visit the Edward C. Little Water Recycling Facility in El Segundo and the Roundhouse Aquarium in Manhattan Beach where they learn about the water cycle, West Basin’s state-of-the-art water recycling process and water conservation efforts that protect local marine animals. Students will be immersed in live interaction with a West Basin tour guide as they are virtually brought behind the scenes to a world-renowned water recycling facility.

Virtual field trips are offered every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and can accommodate one class at a time. West Basin staff will virtually join your classroom through your preferred video-conferencing platform.

Virtual field trips are now available from September 2021 – June 2022 and will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis. In-person field trips may become available in the calendar year 2022 and as local health and school directives allow. For more information on how to schedule, please contact West Basin Education Coordinator Janel Ancayan at (310) 660-6253 or JanelA@westbasin.org.
