West Basin and the Water Replenishment District Celebrate Earth Month With Water Industry Careers Panel

West Basin Municipal District (West Basin) and the Water Replenishment District (WRD) are teaming up to present the 2022 Water Industry Careers Guest Panel, featuring a video library spotlighting two career pathways in the water industry. The program will culminate with a live panel online discussion on April 29, in which high school students will have the opportunity to learn and ask questions about career paths, training programs, and other job opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) fields, with a special focus on jobs in the water industry.

The live interactive panel will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. via Zoom. Featured panelists will speak to students about careers in water resources engineering and government affairs. Panelists will also share their experience working at West Basin and WRD.

“West Basin is proud of its long-standing partnership with WRD, which now includes this new initiative to encourage students to explore a successful career in the water industry,” said West Basin Board President Donald L. Dear. “These videos showcase that everyone can have a fulfilling career path in water.”

“WRD is proud to partner with West Basin for a second time to provide this program to students who are interested in water industry careers. Expanding this program allows students in STEAM to explore the multiple career paths that a career in the water industry can provide,” said WRD Board President John D. S. Allen.

The video library is available for viewing on YouTube. Students and educators may register for the live panel on the West Basin website.
